In association with ESRI (I), successfully steered a 75 manmonth World Bank funded State Environment Action Program (SEAP) Project to create GIS based Web Enabled Gujarat’s Environment Database – the first and largest of its kind in India. The data was collected through in-depth study of specific components of Gujarat’s environment over a period of 5 years by some of the well-known Institutions of India. Database consists of data on Industrial Pollution, Urbanization, Degradation of Land, Water, Biodiversity, Coastal and Marine Environment, Wetlands and Energy. There are about 2000 queryable tables and 300 maps served on GIS server, either in image or vector formats. Includes data on Environmental problems of Gujarat, their causal factors and policy recommendations.
Provided 3D GIS terrain model with Quickbird – world’s highest resolution commercially available satellite imagery and site contours for a 810 Million OR Beach Development Infrastructure project (8 kms long) south of Muscat, for one of the largest Real Estate Companies in Oman
ERP implementation at a Real Estate Development & Construction company.
As a dam designer, he designed 4 Rockfill dams (cost Rs. 64 Crores) on the right side of the Narmada main dam. The design software was developed by him. He was a leader of the team which carried out Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of the foundation treatment analysis and design of the main dam which is a part of Sardar Sarovar Project (a US$4 billion multipurpose irrigation cum 1450 MW hydropower cum drinking water multi state project) . The FEA design of the foundation treatment was reviewed and appreciated by Prof Ray W. Clough and Jim Legas, former Chief Engineer, United States Bureau of Reclamation, Denver, Colorado as members of expert committee appointed by the World Bank. Prof. Clough was Emeritus Professor of Structural Engineering in the department of Civil Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley and one the founders of the mathematical modelling method Finite Element Method (FEM).
His article in 1956 was one of the first applications of this computational method. Dr. Ray Clough was recently recognized as a “Legend of Earthquake Engineering” at the World Conference of in China.
Carried out computer studies for marginal analysis of Narmada Canal Distribution System, for Govt. of Gujarat.
Carried out computerised Stability Analysis of Design of Kempe, Erin-lle and Eniko earth dams, for Govt. of Nigeria.
Developed a computerised Ground Water (Mathematical) Model for Water Balance of Mahi Right Bank Canal, Kakrapar Command area, for Govt. of Gujarat.
Design of Dolatpura weir for Gujarat Electricity Board.
Backwater and submergence studies of Dolatpura weir using HEC-2 program of Hydrology Engg. Centre (HEC), USA for Gujarat Electricity Board.
Siltation (Sedimentation) study of Dolatpura weir using HEC-6 program of Hydrologic Engg. Centre (HEC), USA, for Gujarat Electricity Board.
Consultancy for computer based MIS model for Water Management for drinking water in Dangs district for Technology Mission on drinking Water, Govt. of India.
Analysis and design of Singanpur Weir, near Surat for Surat Municipal Corporation, 1990.
As a Design Consultant to Paramount Pollution Control Ltd., designed a weir at Nazirating, Assam for Assam Govt. Construction Corporation and reviewed by Engineers India Ltd. (EIL) for supplying drinking water to Indian Oil Corporaration township.
